DIRECTIONAL THRUST BORING

PD-2
The PD-2 is a hydraulic service line replacement tool made in the USA. This one-man operated steerable thrust boring machine is designed to install pipes from a basement out to the curb stop, or under driveways and narrow roads. The PD-2 works great for those service lines you need to install under front porches, walkways, flower beds or circular driveways. The use of this machine will greatly increase your job production and decrease the cost of property restoration.

PD-4
The PD-4 was designed for use in difficult soil conditions where a pipe or cable is to be installed under a road or in an area which cannot be dug. These machines are excellent in areas where space is limited.

The PD-4 will operate from a pit only 50 inches long. Despite its small size, the PD-4 has a thrust force of 37,714 lbs @ 3,000 psi and a maximum push rate of 9 feet/minute. The PD-4 can install up to 4-inch ID pipe in most compressible soils.

Minimum Maintenance-Maximum Life
The high strength steel frame is protected from wearing forces by a chrome plated steel guide bar. The pushing mechanism slides on bronze bushings and uses special wiper seals to keep the lubricant in and the water and dirt out. The patented mechanism provides long lasting service with a minimum of maintenance.

How It Works
The model PD-4 uses a cylinder actuated positive-locking, non-slip jaw assembly that provides a steady force when driving push rods. Sections of 2.5' push rods are screwed together and thrust into the ground. When the target pit is reached, the steering head is removed and the appropriate ground expander is attached. The pipe or cable that is to be installed is attached with a grip to the expander and the rods are retrieved until the pipe is installed.

Steering The Bore
The PD-4 uses detection technology located in the head of the rod to accurately establish its location underground to within inches. The detection equipment provides information that indicates the orientation, location and depth of our conically shaped steering head. This allows you to guide the rods around obstacles such as pipes, ducting and building foundations safely and accurately until the final target is reached.

PD-6 
The PD-6 was designed for use in difficult soil conditions where a pipe or cable is to be installed under a road or in an area which cannot be dug. The PD-6 can install pipes by either directional thrust boring or pipe bursting. These machines are excellent in areas where space is limited.

The PD-6 will operate from a pit only 56 inches long and has a thrust force of 84,822 lbs@ 3,000 psi. The maximum push rate of PD-6 is 7 feet/minute and it can install up to 8-inch ID pipe in most compressible soils.

The PD-7 was designed for use in difficult soil conditions where a pipe or cable is to be installed under a road or in an area which cannot be dug. The PD-7 can install pipes by either directional thrust boring or pipe bursting. These machines are excellent in areas where space is limited.

The PD-7 will operate from a pit only 77 inches long and has a thrust force of 112,000 lbs @ 3,000 psi. The maximum push rate of PD-7 is 5 feet/minute and it can install up to 10-inch ID pipe in most compressible soils.

THE MODEL P1-6RT is a professionally engineered and field tested Mechanical Rod Turner. This unit is designed to integrate with the Pow-R Mole PD-6 Thrust Boring Machine and P1 Pusher Box. The result is a unique piece of equipment which enhances the ability of the PD-6. This allows you to install sewer pipes on grade, and more accurately steer the bore to your target.

P-1 Push Box
THE "P-1" PUSHER BOX is a professionally engineered and field tested steel box, designed to integrate with Pow-R Mole "PD-4" or "PD-6" Pipe Pusher. The result is a unique piece of equipment which enhances the ability of the pipe pusher and protects the operator from cave-ins. It is the ultimate protection for a person having to place a pipe under the road and is especially useful in loose or unstable soil conditions.

Meets or exceeds OSHA specifications to a working depth of twelve feet using optional extensions.
